Process Hazard Identification C112
Incident investigations frequently reveal that a root cause of loss is a lack of awareness of potential process hazards. When hazards are not recognized, the associated risks may be overlooked or inadequately controlled. This course provides real-world examples illustrating the spectrum of process hazards that should be considered in thorough Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Management of Change (MOC) reviews. Participants will learn practical methods for identification of hazards when performing analysis of systems and procedures using the hazard and operability (HAZOPs) and what-if/checklist analysis techniques that address federal regulatory requirement. Successful completion of this course provides participants with a solid foundation in hazard identification, which is a key competency required of a PHA leader under OSHA and EPA regulations. This course also serves as an initial step toward qualification and potential certification as a PHA leader.
This course is also available in combination with our Management of Change Course C114 and C113 Revalidation PHA's.
